I’ve been surfing the net quite obsessively since 1996. I think this qualifies me as an old fogey when it comes to internet surfing. One good thing that has come out of my long experience with the internet and its various content is that I have seen the development of a few key industries and sectors in the world wide web. And being a self confessed porn gourmand, I have seen that development more in the field of online porn. So it came as a surprise that I was asked to review Babylon-x.com. The address, like a guy half remembering an amazing one night stand ten years ago, seemed comfortably familiar. I visited the site and, lo and behold, it was indeed the website that I used to visit quite often during my first couple of years surfing the net. Babylon-x.com made a name for itself by featuring celebrities all over the world who are caught in flagrante delicto. Years before Paris Hilton popularized the celebrity sex tape, this site was where the horny surfers with celebrity fantasies went to get their fix. I was quite excited to reacquaint myself with this popular website. But like meeting a great lay after so many years, the fascination turns to disillusionment. It’s been almost a decade since I last visited Babylon-x.com but, in all of these years and the various developments in web design, the website looked like it maintained its old look and layout. You enter the site with a feeling that you have gone back in time when frames were all the rage and you needed to scroll so much just to get to the bottom of a page. This is retro in a bad way because it makes the site look and feel cheap, something a visitor should not feel especially if you are asking for paid subscriptions. I was hoping that Babylon-x.com would at least be able to redeem itself in terms of content. The website offers a number of subsections that range from celebrity pics, celebrity videos and scandals – which are all self explanatory. You will see not only the cursory naked stolen clips of celebrities but actual sex tapes from these women as they suck and fuck their way to bliss. Babylon-x.com straddles that line between softcore and hardcore because the content is really a hodge podge of both.

As can be gleamed from a description of the website, Babylon-x.com mostly features celebrities. So in terms of describing how involved they get in their pictures or videos, it would be largely on a case to case basis. The most disappointing in terms of appeal are the video grabs of scenes where these celebrities bared their skin. For example, 80’s icon Phoebe Cates appeared in a couple of movies where she bared her breasts. Those clips are here in all their murky VHS glory, hardly the stuff quality hard ons are made of. There are some gems here and there though. The video clip of a certain celebrity “wink, wink” will curl your toes what with the obviously enthusiastic blow job and the great close up shots of her pussy. This girl’s sex tape is the perfect example of a willing participant in a video, one where the girl obviously loves what she is doing.

To describe the actions that are offered on the site would be futile. These are stolen clips from celebrities so there is no intent for the video to be done in a particular way. In other words, the clips exist because it features celebrities in the nude or doing the nasty and not as part of a conscious effort to put forth a “product”. As it is, you will see the usual vanilla type of sex acts here – blowjobs, vaginal sex, anal sex. Rarely will you find a threesome. The real reason people go here are for the celebrities caught in compromising situations and not what the celebrities do in the videos or pictures.

There are subsections like Who’s Hot (a directory of highly popular celebrities with revealing photos or videos, Flash Videos (short flash video clips that, from the looks of it, come from amateurs. Ironically these Flash videos are actually videos of women “flashing” their titties to the camera), and Oops Videos (videos celebrities and media personalities who accidentally show off their private parts to the camera).

Babylon-x.com has done one thing really well and it is this winning formula that they still present to the public even after 12 years of existence. Though they may still find a lot of clients – especially those who are celebrity voyeurs who really have an obsession over famous women and what they do beneath the sheets.
